World Music Therapy Week | April 10–15, 2025
This week, we’re joining the global community in celebrating World Music Therapy Week—a time to recognize the incredible impact of music on health, well-being, and human connection.
Music & Memory began with the core principles of music therapy and the understanding that a scalable model was needed to reach the millions of older adults living in residential care. With only a limited number of board-certified music therapists in the U.S., the question became: how could the benefits of music therapy be extended to more people? The answer was a new approach—one that empowered frontline care staff to use music in meaningful, intentional ways to enhance connection, reduce stress, and improve quality of life.
Today, Music & Memory remains one of the clearest examples of how music therapy principles can be adapted and shared—at scale. Whether in a nursing home, hospital, or someone’s living room, personalized music is helping people reconnect with themselves and those around them.
This work is rooted in the belief that music is not a luxury—it’s essential. It supports identity, encourages movement, eases transitions, and brings comfort in ways few other tools can.
To all the music therapists, caregivers, and professionals making this possible every day: thank you.
We’re proud to celebrate this week with you—and to keep working toward a world where music is part of every care plan.
