Bringing Music to Life: Carol’s Story

December 15, 2024

Carol’s love for music has been a defining part of her life. A former church choir member and piano player, she has always found joy and connection through melodies and rhythms. Whether it’s The Eagles, Willie Nelson, or Nat King Cole, music continues to bring her energy, happiness, and a spark of life.

Since joining the Music & Memory program at Oak Hammock in Gainesville, Florida, Carol’s passion for music has only grown. She engages with her personalized playlist through headphones, sings along in group sessions, and even claps and moves to live entertainment. Music is not just a part of her day—it’s the key to unlocking her vibrant spirit.

Thanks to supporters like you, Music & Memory continues to provide:

  • Tools for caregivers to support elders in residential care.
  • Improved quality of life for vulnerable populations.
  • Personalized music playlists that bring joy and connection.

Together, let’s ensure that more people like Carol can experience the transformative power of their favorite music.
