Lorenzo may have moments of appearing withdrawn and may retreat back to his room but once the music starts, his mood makes a complete turn around and his body doesn’t stop moving rhythmically to the music. Lorenzo is a proud Jamaican man with a kind heart and a love of Reggae music; he knows every word to Bob Marley’s ‘Three Little Birds’. When he’s listening his smile is infectious, and one can’t help but dance right along with him. Even in his quiet time Lorenzo is enjoying his music.
Thanks to generous donors and supporters, the lives of Lorenzo and seniors just like him benefit from being a part of the Music & Memory program. They’ve all been able to:
- Receive a music playlist loaded with favorite music
- Enjoy countless hours of personal engagement
- Find joy and renewed connection with others
These individuals benefit every day from having access to their favorite music. It enhances their quality of life, restores their sense of identity and connection to others, and provides a foundation for having as much comfort, pleasure, meaning and well-being in their days as possible.
