BRÏAH launches “Music Is Medicine” campaign to champion therapeutic music in partnership with MUSIC & MEMORY®

November 13, 2023

We’re so excited to be launching a new campaign, Music is Medicine, with recording artist BRÏAH!!! Her latest song, “If The Sky Should Fall,” was inspired by her own experience with three of her grandparents battling Alzheimer’s, and how music is bringing comfort to them. Alongside the launch, BRÏAH is releasing an animated music video for “If the Sky Should Fall”, with the purpose of educating the world about the healing power of music.

Extending the Reach of Therapeutic Music

As the world increasingly recognizes the profound impact of music on emotional and cognitive well-being, BRÏAH and Music & Memory have joined forces to extend the reach of therapeutic music, especially to those residing in long-term care settings. The campaign’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for elderly and vulnerable individuals by leveraging the profound therapeutic properties of music.  Innovative global audio giant, SHURE is lending their support, providing an allotment of SRH240A headphones for Music and Memory facilities around the country.  Actors & ambassadors for the fight for Alzheimer’s and dementia research – Colin Donnell (Chicago Med, Irreverent), Selenis Leyva (Orange is the New Black), Yvette Nicole Brown (Community), Kim Campbell (Glen Campbell Estate), Lost Witness (producer), and Amber Long (CEO of Modern Agenda) are also on-board to help spread the message.

BRÏAH has a deeply personal connection to the cause.  The artist’s latest song, “If The Sky Should Fall,” was inspired by her own experience with three of her grandparents battling Alzheimer’s, making this campaign very close to home.  Alongside the launch, BRÏAH is releasing an animated music video for “If the Sky Should Fall”, inspired by her grandfather, and with the purpose of educating the world about the wonderful impact of music therapy (WATCH)

The “Music Is Medicine” campaign involves various components, including:

  • Personalized Music Programs: Collaborating with volunteers to create tailored music playlists for residents of long-term care facilities.
  • Donation Drives: Encouraging the public to donate gently used iPods and MP3 players, headphones, and music libraries to ensure that residents have access to personalized playlists.
  • Awareness and Fundraising Events: Hosting events, concerts, and awareness campaigns to raise funds and spread the message of the healing power of music.
  • Educational Social Media Interactions: Offering useful knowledge and tips for caregivers and those wishing to join the movement to better understand and utilize music therapy.

BRÏAH and Music & Memory invite the public, corporate partners, and music enthusiasts to join in this noble cause. Your support can make a significant difference in the lives of those who reside in long-term care facilities.

BRÏAH shared her excitement about the “Music Is Medicine” campaign: “I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformational effects of music on individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s and other physical and cognitive challenges. With the power of personalized music playlists, we aim to provide comfort, joy, and a renewed sense of self to our loved ones and others who are suffering.”

About BRÏAH

Bonnie Rabson a.k.a. BRÏAH (pronounced Brie-Ah) knew her life would revolve around music from a young age. Though her journey began with classical / opera training, a thirst for variety soon took hold.  She entered the world of EDM with “Dreaming”, her song that garnered millions of spins and a #1 hit for 6 straight weeks in the European radio circuit.

In 2017, BRÏAH took a trip to Miami, FL that would change her life.  Emerging as Country/Rock artist Bonn E Maiy, she released two independent LPs, toured across the USA, performed with Johnny Depp & Joe Perry, and was endorsed by Grace Slick and the estates of Janis Joplin and The Doors.

After 4 years away from home & family, BRÏAH returned to where it all started – figuratively and literally.  Back in Canada, she recreated her electronic sound and garnered over one million streams on her first release back into the electronic world, “If the Sky Should Fall”. With a deep passion for using music as a tool for healing and connection, she has dedicated her talent to making a positive impact in the world.
