How much does the training cost?
Training costs are based on the number of residents/clients served by your organization (for-profit or non-profit):
- 51 or more: $1,250
- 36-50: $800
- 21-35: $650
- 9-20: $600
- 8 or fewer: $500
For organizations with multiple sites, serving 51 or more residents/clients, each additional site is $800.
A $200 renewal fee is due annually on the anniversary on each organization’s certification. This fee ensures continued access to a broad array of benefits that are only available to MUSIC & MEMORY℠ Certified Organizations. Renewal invoices are sent 60 days prior to payment due date, and are based on date of certification.
Program Equipment Costs
Program equipment and associated costs vary depending on the size of the organization. As a general guideline for assembling an equipment budget, we recommend budgeting about $100 per person for equipment. This includes music devices, headphones, and splitter cables.
We also recommend budgeting for a dedicated computer to hold your music library. A laptop is the best choice for flexibility when working with participants and their families to select appropriate music. It should have a CD reader to download popular tracks from original CDs and a hard drive with 160 GB or more. Price varies, so research best options.
After certification, qualifying organizations will receive a Music & Memory Starter Kit consisting of 10 SanDisk® Clip Jam MP3 Players (Item #SDMX26-008G), 10 headphones, 10 AC adapters and one iTunes gift card ($50 U.S. only).
Who is eligible for a starter kit?
Starter kits are offered to non-profit sites within the United States that pay $800 or more for training and have NOT received start-up support from government or other funding sources.
*Organizations located outside the United States are not eligible to receive Starter Kits.
* Individual proprietary (for-profit) facilities are not eligible for a Non-Profit Starter Kit. For-profit sites should supply at least 10 music devices to initiate training.
